The Synod’s collegial governance, consonant with the conciliar tradition exemplified in Acts 15, vests authority in a convocation of over 3,500 ordained bishops, augmented by archiepiscopal oversight and a presbyteral cadre exceeding several thousand. This polyarchic structure ensures doctrinal rectitude and pastoral solicitude, wherein each prelate, as successor to the apostolic episkopoi, stewards the flock of God (1 Peter 5:2) across our 20,000 affiliated assemblies.

The Archbishops’ Council consists of Senior Archbishops chosen from among the global body of Archbishops to coordinate, promote, aid and further the work and mission of the Synod. It does this by providing support to the Churches and dioceses globally. The Judicial Council is the highest court of the Synod.

Archbishops’ Council aims at:  1 Supporting a more diverse body to fully represent the communities we serve in age and diversity and revitalize the Parishes 2 Expanding the global outreach and establishing more Churches and Dioceses 3 Assisting all local churches, supported by their dioceses, becoming communities and hubs for initial and ongoing formation 4 Safety and Dignity: A Church that affirms the dignity of all people by being a safe place for all, especially children and vulnerable adults 5 Academic programmes– provide guidance to member churches and dioceses to set up high-quality academic programmes
